The Magician - Key 1 - Major Arcana

The Magician is that part of us that manifests what he concentrates on. We have always had a fascination for Magicians since early childhood since it seems fantastical that one could wish for a Palance and "lo and behold.. It would appear". This explains our fascination with The Magicians in the Tales of the Arabian Nights, Merlin, Gandalf and to the Magicians from literary sources being celebrated.

The Magician of the Tarot stands in a gorgeous bountiful garden framed by lilies which represent the purity of his thought and roses which represent desires. His hand is raised above him to illustrate the maxim "as above, so below". What this means is that everything the Magician conceives of in his mind, he creates in the physical world.

On a table in front of him lie the four elements, namely Fire represented by the wand, Water represented by the cup, Air represented by the sword and Earth is represented by the pentacle. With these four elements and by directing his will, he creates all that he places his concentration on.

Neuro-linguistic programming attempts to explain the working of the mind or neurological processes and how they can be altered through the use of language and behavioural patterns. The Use of language forms the linguistic part and the behaviour forms the programming part. NLP affirms that the brain tries to draw evidence to support its claims. The subconscious takes the part of least resistance and manifests what it believes in.

The Magician turns up and asks you what are your unique skills. What can you create in this world? Where do you place your attention? Do you concentrate on the negative with thoughts of "I'm not good enough". Or is your focus on the Positive which affirms, "I've got this!!", "I can do this".

The Tarot carries in it the wisdom that we can control our mind and our reality, and this belief is further reinforced by NLP, The Magician reminds you to focus on your thoughts, to choose the possible, to focus on your skills and to create a life that is rich. The Magician also turns up to remind you “when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” as mentioned by the writer Coelho. An opportunity will come your way and serendipity will be the norm so that all you need has been granted to you.

This is a good time to focus on what you need and stay on your goal to create the life you want,

Meditation On The Magician

“Never surrender your hopes and dreams to the fateful limitations others have placed on their own lives. The vision of your true destiny does not reside within the blinkered outlook of the naysayers and the doom prophets. Judge not by their words, but accept advice based on the evidence of actual results. Do not be surprised should you find a complete absence of anything mystical or miraculous in the manifested reality of those who are so eager to advise you. Friends and family who suffer the lack of abundance, joy, love, fulfillment and prosperity in their own lives really have no business imposing their self-limiting beliefs on your reality experience.” Anthon St. Maarten

When The Magician turns up for you, the focus needs to be on:

  • What do I want most of all?

  • How is the environment, helping me manifest it now?

  • What are my thoughts at the moment? Are they positive?

  • Do I have any negative thoughts as of now? If so remember that no garden can flourish where there are weeds and those negative thoughts would have to be painstakingly and consciously de-weeded.

  • What skill do I have that I am the master of and can use to manifest my desires?

If this Resonates with You Take A Class or Book A Reading.
