The Ten Of Swords, sure is a gory-looking card! A man lies dead on the ground with ten swords pinned in his back. Dawn is on the horizon!
Drawing the Ten of Swords means you have hit rock bottom!! Therein lies the good news. If you are rock bottom, then the only way to go is up!!
The Swords in the back imply that the person is avoiding something. There are some stresses that build to a point and then one just wants to run away. Avoidance of a problem, unfortunately, does not send it away. In fact the more you push under the carpet, the more there is the potential to catch you off guard.
This situation hasn’t built up in the span of a day, it is an ongoing one where one had been overwhelmed, stressed and even depressed. The only positive in this situation is that the situation has burnt itself out and will hit rock bottom.
Most people who see this card do not see beyond the ten swords and the dead man!! However, the focus of the card is the break of dawn!
It is interesting to note that it takes a sword to kill a man, which makes ten for one person an overkill!! Could it be that your situation is not as dismal as you have made it out to be? Visualize your situation a year from now and see how much of an impact it can have. Maybe all is not as awful as you make it out to be.
Notice the gestures of the fingers of the man. His tunic and his fingers link him to the Hierophant. This could mean that you are in the situation you are in because of your beliefs. You need to be sure that they were worth fighting for. Now the situation has come to an end, and a new dawn will emerge. As with every ending, you need to drop that which does not serve you and move on.
